In Wuhua Technology Park, there located 11 institutes of higher educations, which include Yunan University, Yunnan Normal University, Kunming Science and Technology Institute, with a regular number of students of 80,000, and that of faculty members of 20,000. There are more than 20 research institutes located in WTP, such as Kumming Mining Research Institute, Kunming Valuable Mental Research Institute, with more than 10,000 researchers and assistant researchers. The well-equipped laboratories and the free and open academic exchange environment provided by these institutions are convenient conditions for carrying out technological researches and academic researches. Therefore, WTP has solid foundation for future development. And it also has the potential to initiate technological innovations in Yunnan province.
