Wuhua Technology Park has unique advantage in fostering development of high- and new- tech industries. There are 11 colleges and 20 research institutes located in the park. As a result, it has abundant intellectual resources, which makes it the best place for the provincial and municipal  government to initiate technological innovation. Over the last 10 years, The Electronic Street of Yanxi and Jingding Technology Park (both are located in the park) have set up the foundation for the development of high- and new- tech industries and created a mature market. Located in the central area of Kunming, the park has advantageous investment environment. The park is also benefited by the fact that Wuhua district has powerful economic strength and is active in government investment. In order to speed up the development of Wuhua Technology Park and encourage high- and new- tech industries in the district, the district government has decided to increase its investment in the high- and new- tech industries in the district during the 15th development period. The Party Committee and government of the district has issued Decisions of Promoting the Development of High- and New- Tech Industries, which intends to promote the development of high- and new- tech industries by increasing investment, providing talents, encouraging technological innovation and optimize the investment environment. At the same time, to improve the environment of Wuhua Technology Park,  the district will allocate fund for facility construction project in the northern part of the district every year, in accordance the principle that priority of facility construction should be given to the northern part.
